Pencheff and Fraley have been fighting for the rights of injured workers all over Ohio since 1953 when its founder and namesake Peter M. Pencheff started the law firm. Mr. Pencheff became known by his clients and throughout the legal community by his mantra, “Always put the client first and the rest will follow”. This belief has been carried on throughout the years even long after Mr. Pencheff’s retirement in the early 2000s. The firm’s other namesake, Joe Fraley was hired by Mr. Pencheff in 1991 after graduating from Capital Law School in Columbus and being admitted to the Ohio Bar.
Through hard work and dedication, Joe became a partner in just three years-time from the date of his hire and thus the law firm of Pencheff & Fraley was born. Joe continued to learn from Mr. Pencheff along the way and continued working hard to grow the business extensively by adding the practice area of personal injury to the already established areas of workers’ compensation and social security disability.
Mr. Pencheff and Joe Fraley worked together as partners throughout the ’90s and early 2000s until Mr. Pencheff’s retirement around 2005. Joe continued on his own until 2008 when he met with attorneys Dan Boda and Bill Catalano of Mitchell, Allen, Catalano, and Boda about merging the two long-established Ohio law firms. The three attorneys then merged their two law firms together and continued to fight for the rights of injured Ohioans until Dan and Bill retired in 2018 and 2019 respectively. The firm added another Capital Law graduate and attorney, Josh Fraley, who was admitted to the bar and joined the firm in 2016. Once again the firm became Pencheff & Fraley in 2020 and added another Capital Law graduate and attorney, David Fraley, who became admitted to the bar in 2020. Pencheff & Fraley continues to serve all of Ohio in its current form with Joe Fraley and his nephew, Josh, and son, David. Although the law firm has undergone many changes throughout the years, one thing still holds true, the client will always be put first and from there everything else will follow!
